Originals from Africa (OfA), a strictly wholesale company, brings you unique, original products from Southern Africa.

OfA is a proud member of the Fair Trade Federation.

We strive to provide the artisans we support in Southern Africa with a steady source of sustainable income while gaining them recognition in the US for their product creativity.

Originals from Africa was formed by Puso & Maddie Kirby, and Liv & Terry Pikul (Puso and Liv are brother and sister) with the goal of providing their artisans (and their families) with a much needed income while gaining them recognition in the US for their unique products.

Liv is based in Connecticut and is responsible for all customer and artisan relationships, and Puso is based on Mokolodi Nature Preserve in Botswana. Puso maintains strong relationships with artisans that are difficult for Liv to reach directly from the USA. They are typically in hard to reach locations with no Internet access.

Puso also studied fine art and helps our artisans with new product development on a continual basis.

Originals from Africa is proud to follow fair trade principles and our mission is to help to sustain the African communities that our artisans are part of.

We focus on unusual and difficult to find products from Southern Africa (Botswana, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe), and enjoy telling the story of who made these products, where they were made, and how long they took to make.
