Beaded Wire Art

Characteristic of Southern Africa, beadwork is colorful and dynamic. Not only does it reflect the mood of the area, but it is fast becoming one of the most popular forms of handmade art.

These pieces are made by Domingo Wirecraft, a cooperative in northern Zimbabwe headed by Bernard Domingo. Bernard has been making wire & bead animals for over 20 years and hand makes high quality pieces. He works with a team of 10 beaded wire art artisans and takes great pride in his work. The smaller pieces take approximately half an hour to make, whereas the larger ones take up to four hours.
