Beaded Wire Art

Characteristic of Southern Africa, beadwork is colorful and dynamic. Not only does it reflect the mood of the area, but it is fast becoming one of the most popular forms of handmade art.

These pieces are made by Domingo Wirecraft, a cooperative in northern Zimbabwe headed by Bernard Domingo. Bernard has been making wire & bead animals for over 20 years and hand makes high quality pieces. He works with a team of 10 beaded wire art artisans and takes great pride in his work. The smaller pieces take approximately half an hour to make, whereas the larger ones take up to four hours.

They alert game of approaching predators with their loud calls. These pieces took Domingo and his team over 2 hours to make and are 4" tall. Made by hand in Zimbabwe.

It is sturdy and quite an eye-catcher! It comes in an assortment of colors and is approximately 12-15" tall. Made by hand in Zimbabwe.

Click Image to Enlarge	Beaded Gecko Lizard Small #WBGS This is one of our favorite pieces. This lizard has a long tail that can be shaped by it's owner. They make great wall art, especially if they appear to be climbing the wall in a group of two or more. Approximately 8" long, assorted colors.
